What is VO2 Max?

VO2 Max measures the maximum volume of oxygen your body can utilize during exercise to make energy—essentially the size of your "aerobic engine." Higher VO2 Max is strongly associated with better long-term health outcomes and a lower risk of early death.

How hard is the test?

The test starts at a low intensity and gradually increases in difficulty. No running necessary—an accurate result can be achieved simply by walking on an incline.

How long does testing take?

We book 45 minutes for the appointment. The test itself only takes 10–15 minutes.

How often do I need to test?

Testing once a year is best for most people. Testing 12 weeks after starting a new training program is the most effective way to gauge progress.
