Aging Gracefully

It's ugly out there. We are dying younger. Rates of chronic disease continue to rise. The percentage of people living with chronic pain is growing every year. The standard advice of "eat better and move more" is failing to move the needle. People are understandably confused as one fad after another claims to "solve" these drastic health problems once for all. One minute meat is the culprit, the next minute we're told we should all adopt a strictly carnivorous diet, or maybe its just the tomatoes and other "nightshades" that are to blame, or it's Netflix, or social media, or bananas that are truly responsible for this ongoing reduction in our quality and quantity life. It's bananas all right. #dadjokes

So many "experts" are trying to sell us their simple solution to what is ultimately a very complex problem. Comforting lies sell better than uncomfortable truths. I'll take my chances with the uncomfortable Truth. Each of us is ultimately responsible for our own health. We can either accept that, educate ourselves, commit to taking the actions needed to maintain the quality of our lives and do everything we can to extend the number of years we have on this Earth, or we can play victim, point fingers, and continue down this slippery slope to poorer health and earlier graves. Perhaps you're thinking I'm being too unsympathetic?

I've lived with chronic pain. I've seen the quality of life of loves ones deteriorate prematurely. I've worked with too many people that waited until their 60's or 70's to adopt a healthier lifestyle and it's painful to tell them the sad truth...they simply waited too long to turn the ship around and the best we can do at this point is to slow the decline.

If we want to be able to enjoy life to the fullest, to maintain the ability to participate in all the activities that make life worth living, we need to start taking our health seriously. We need a plan. We need to be committed. We are going to need help along the way. We need to start asap.

That is why I am writing this, that is why I've decided to spend the handful of hours I have free each week to building this website, posting on social media, and developing the Maximum HealthSpan Program. Not to tell you I have all the answers, but simply to help. I've lost over 50 lbs of fat myself, all but eliminated the chronic pain I used to face daily, gotten stronger at 41 than I ever was before, and have spent the last 5+ years working full-time with hundreds of clients to improve their health and fitness, focused on the long game. I'd love to help you as well. Why? Here's my confession...I'm selfish, nothing makes me feel better than helping people get stronger and feel better. That's the Truth. Take it or leave it.

Will you accept my help?

All I ask of you in return is your email address, so I can share with you all the free programs I'll be rolling out in 2023.

Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Respectfully,

Michael Walton
